We have developed a number of database driven intranet applications for Schlumberger.
We were approached by our client, zincweb, to develop a number of add-ins to an existing infrastructure.
It is very common with larger organisations that each department will have their own way of dealing with tasks, using a combination of excel/lotus systems, linked with some rather precarious scripting, often written by someone who left the company 3 years ago. This can lead to problems in maintaining data integrity and adding new features over time. It also means that sharing data with other departments, is often difficult or even impossible.
A recent project was to take an existing lotus based application used for quote and procurement tracking across a single department and bring it inline with the new specification. We took a comprehensive brief and created a new software solution, which has resolved a number of bugs in the original system, added new functionality and made data sharing across multiple departments possible.
This project shows our ability to work on behalf of other web development and design agencies to offer additional skills, which are not possessed in-house or simply help out with additional work load. This project had a very tight brief and was completed on time and on budget.
